BOTOX Physician in Chicago

Botox injections are the most popular way for people to reduce or eliminate their facial wrinkles. The FDA approved treatment is comprised of minimally invasive injections that are made from botulinum toxin A. Botox is injected into the skin and it works by blocking the signals from the nerves to the muscles, which makes the wrinkles soften and relax. This treatment is most often used for frown lines, crow’s feet and lines on the forehead.

FAQ's

What is Botox?

Botox is a drug made from a neurotoxin that is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Botox has been designed to be an injection into specific muscles to remove wrinkles temporarily. The results of Botox are dramatic and they make the patient look many years younger.

Are there side effects with Botox?

Just like with any other type of medical treatment or procedure, there are potential side effects from getting Botox, but it is extremely rare to experience them. Only patients who are in good health should be given Botox, since this will dramatically reduce the chances of experiencing any side effects.

What are Dermal Fillers?

As people get older, the collagen and elasticity in the skin dramatically lessens, and this causes folds and wrinkles in the skin. In order to correct this and restore a more youthful appearance, dermal fillers have been created in order to lift the skin and add volume to the areas in the face that are showing signs of aging.

How long will Botox last?

Although results will vary by patient, most dermal fillers say that the results will last up to one year. This will be dependent on how much Botox was given, how old the patient is, what their desired results were and how many facial folds and wrinkles they had.

Will I be able to resume my normal daily activities?

After you have your treatment, you will immediately be able to resume your normal daily activities. It is advised that you do not participate in vigorous exercise for 6 hours after being treated however, and you should try to avoid direct exposure to the sun.

Will I experience bruising after getting botox?

There is always a chance of bruising when a needle is injected into your skin. In order to reduce your chances of bruising, we advise that you stop taking any blood thinning medications, such as aspirin or ibuprofen for two weeks before your Botox treatment. Before you make any changes to your medications, you should consult with your doctor. New Paragraph
